From 2006 to 2011, Roman ordered 79 products of child pornography, including films showing nude minor boys wrestling and performing other non-sexual acts, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
PRINCETON — A youth soccer coach was arrested today after federal agents from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service discovered “compromising, sexual movies of minor boys” in his home, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Jorge A. Roman, 48, was charged with one count of possessing images of child pornography. He appeared today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Douglas E. Arpert in Trenton federal court and was detained pending bail, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release.
From 2006 to 2011, Roman spent over $2,200 ordering 79 products of child pornography, including films exploiting nude, minor boys marketed as “naturist films from around the world,” the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
The videos described in the criminal complaint did not show sexual acts but featured nude boys, many of them 12 and 13 years old, wrestling, pillow-fighting and engaging in other activities, the office said.
The movies were sent to Roman’s home in Princeton or delivered over the Internet, the complaint said.
DVDs and photo CDs were seized from the home today by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Roman is listed online as a staff member of the Princeton Soccer Association, a youth soccer club. On his own website Roman says he has coached many soccer teams, serving as an assistant coach at Princeton and Rider universities, and has won national youth coaching awards. He is originally from Guatemala.
