HAMILTON — Police are investigating after two men said their Mercedes Benz wagon was carjacked late this morning by two suspects who implied they had a gun.

The two Hightstown men had driven the black 2000 Mercedes Benz 430 to Massachusetts Avenue and Norman Court around 11:30 a.m. They later told police they were in the area to pick up a brother of one of the men, Lt. Joe Mastropolo said.

The victims said two other men approached the car from behind, indicating they had a gun, though no weapon was seen, Mastropolo said. The victims gave up the car and the suspects drove away.

Police recovered the unoccupied car around noon at the corner of Francis Avenue and Tuttle Avenue.

No injuries were reported during the carjacking. Police could not locate the brother the victims said they had been planning to pick up.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Hamilton police at (609) 581-4043 or the tip line at (609) 581-4008.
