Regina Wallace faces murder and weapons charges for the death of her mother.
EWEING — A Ewing woman who allegedly murdered her mother with a pickaxe last Halloween has been indicted on murder and weapons charges.
Regina Wallace, 33, entered a hospital in Pennsylvania the day after the murder and admitted to hospital staff that she killed her 53-year-old mother, Sharon Wallace, prosecutors said previously.
The hospital notified local authorities, who called Ewing police. When police arrived at Wallace’s home, they saw Sharon Wallace on the couch through the front window. Police entered and found her dead with wounds to her face and chest, prosecutors said.
Regina Wallace was in desperate need of mental health treatment and had gone off her medication at the time of the murder, her attorney Eric Underriner said during her bail hearing in December.
