Keith Williams received a 20-year prison sentence for planning the death of Arrel Bell in 2008.
TRENTON -- A city man who planned the execution-style murder of a fellow gang member on Myspace in 2008 was sentenced to 20 years in prison today.
Keith Williams, 24, may not have been the trigger man, but without him Arrel Bell would be alive today, Assistant Prosecutor Brian McCauley said.
“Mr. Williams role in this was the facilitator. He got it done,” McCauley said.
Bell’s mother Beatrice Smith spoke at the hearing, calling what Williams did a “cowardly act.”
Superior Court Judge Robert Billmeier sentenced Williams to an additional nine months, to be served consecutively to the 20 years, for violating the probation he was on at the time of the crime. Williams’ attorney Mark Fury said he will file an appeal.
