A woman arrived at the house on the 200 block of Smith Street shortly after noon, went inside and found the body, Lt. Steve Varn said at the scene. The woman called police, who arrived and confirmed the man was dead.
TRENTON -- Detectives are investigating after the body of a man was found inside a South Ward row home early this afternoon, police said.
A woman arrived at the house on the 200 block of Smith Street shortly after noon, went inside and found the body, Lt. Steve Varn said at the scene. The woman called police, who arrived and confirmed the man was dead.
The man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, Mercer County Assistant Prosecutor Kathleen Petrucci said.
The house is just a few doors away from the scene of a Monday morning shooting that left a 22-year-old city man critically wounded. Any connection between the two crimes remains unclear at the early stages of the investigation.
The deceased man has not been identified, Petrucci said this afternoon.
